To raise money to shape and educate the Future Leaders of Haiti.

Managing Organization

The Georgia Haitian-American Chamber of Commerce, Inc., a 501 (c) (3) non-profit organization. Your contributions to this campaign are tax-deductible to the extent allowed by law.

Use of Funds: 

Pay for the expenses associated with the 2019 B.E.L. Initiative Program including airfare, lodging, meals, ground transportation, workshops & seminars for 20 Young Leaders from Haiti.

More About the B.E.L. Initiative

B.E.L. stands for Business, Entrepreneurship and Leadership. The B.E.L. Initiative exists to fulfill the vision that Haiti is a developed nation – an economic powerhouse in the world.

It's an initiative of the Georgia Haitian-American Chamber of Commerce designed to create a hands-on environment for Young Haitian Leaders to learn, practice and master the social, leadership and business skills needed to transform their communities in Haiti, and impact the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) critical to the development of the country. The SDGs critical to the development of Haiti include but are not limited to: 

  • Good Health and Well-Being
  • Quality Education
  • Clean Water and Sanitation
  • Affordable and Clean Energy
  • Decent Work and Economic Growth
  • Industry/Innovation and Infrastructure
  • Responsible Consumption and Production
  • Peace/Justice and Strong Institutions

The 2019 Program

In 2019, the B.E.L. Initiative (Cohort 2019) will provide 20 outstanding young leaders from Haiti, (B.E.L. Fellows), the opportunity to hone their skills at selected U.S. higher-education institutions for 4 weeks with support for professional development after they return home. Our 2019 host universities are:

  • University of Iowa
  • Georgia Institute of Technology
